After Sunday's epic hunt at the old ball field, with 18 silver coins, I decided to take the afternoon off from work and try again for a few hours. I concentrated on 2 areas that I had not hit very hard in the previous 3 visits, going very slow and digging everything that was below 2-3 inches. After not having found any Barber dimes at the site, was able to dig up 3 of them today, all in the same area near the first base line of the main field. The Merc was also found close by. Towards the end of the hunt decided to try the football field, was finding a lot of deep clad before getting a very week 38 on the Safari. At about 10 inches down, was getting a weak signal on the pinpointer. Used a shovel to dig out 2-3 inches of soil, no more signal from the pinpointer in the hole, but the Safari was screaming 38 when swung over the shoveled dirt, which turned out to be a worn 1894-O Barber Quarter. Plenty more area to hunt around the football field this weekend.

In 4 hunts this site has yielded 41 silver coins. Also found 5 Indian Heads today. I am so loving this place it is hard not to take the rest of the week off from work and hunt it hard every day. I hope everyone gets to experience what appears to be a virgin site like this.

Wow. What did you do to deserve this site? Save someone's life? Return a million bucks that you found? You must have done something very special. That is incredible!

Wow, a dream come true!

Everyone should have a virgin at least once Congrats on yours.

Haha, Ball-field...!!??? Let me tell you a little about ball fields. I hunt one from the 1800's I've been hunting it for 8 years... Almost every year I find something old and worth keeping... This year alone I found a LC, a War nickel and a IH.... After hunting it for 8 years it still produces. So my friend what you have there, your just hitting the tip of the ice burg. You have so much to find from there, just keep digging those good signals you'll be there for years !!

Keep @ it and HH !!

That's not a ball field it's your own personal "bank" of silver! Congrats that is awesome! We're just waiting for you to pull up that "OMG!" Piece, then do the happy dance! Nice job finding that field! HH! And some happy dance pics!

Now thats a trip to the barber shop...Congrats man....:occasion14:

That is awesome, congrats on all the silver, try as hard as you can to clean that place out! HH.

Looks like that park has never been hunted! Finding a park or spot that has not been metal detected in its self is a great find. Make me wish I could go back in time to 1980 and hunt some of the parks with the MDs and gear we have today!

Very cool, what a honey hole you have!

Great silvers. That really is a "Field of Dreams"
