Hi all, I thought I'd get out once more to search for my gold ring before the weather started to turn colder, but still no luck..it was 80 degress a week ago but I went out this afternoon in a 21 degree wind chill..wasn't too bad though since I was dressed for it. Tonight's low, 23 degrees..what happened to spring in the midwest??? >:(

Anyway I searched the ball fields where I played little league as a kid..I've found probably more than $100 just in quarters over the years, and every time I go back I still find stuff.

Today I came home with $7.69 in clad (25 quarters, 10 dimes, 5 nickels, 19 pennies), a mood ring, a tie clasp, a pin, and the best thing I came up with was a sterling silver St. Christopher medal.

I'm going to take a break from MDing over the next few days to spend time with family this weekend, hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter!

Well, you're a better person than I am, I'm gonna go MDing on easter. We're all going to my sisters, she just bought an 80+ year-old house, and they have several cellar holes on the property. Happy easter to me !!!

Stick at it with the ring, wait 'til the water warms up and try some beaches, maybe check a private res. or two(that's where mine came from). It'll happen.

nice hunt...... sweeeet medal too...... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nat,
I think you and Ridley are searching the same places. ;D
Man, nice stack of clad and awesome medal too.
Way to go.
Happy Easter,
MM

Love them ball fields!

Nice pendant!

Nice finds Natman ... congratz on a very productive hunt!

Nice haul, Nat! The ball fields around me aren't nearly as productive as that.

Looks like you have to disc out the pull tab/nickel stuff also. Way too much trash at the ball fields ;D

Thanks guys, Bongo that's good info..so far I've been tumbling my clad, they look great after a couple of hours and I can clean a handful all at once. I never try to tumble the old coins though!

Hey Paul, it depends where you are..I find all my good stuff in the middle of nowhere, where targets are fewer but more worth digging. I lowered the disc quite a bit for that gold ring but I didn't dig everything closer the concession stand..like you said, too much trash.

I figured out what was for sure a pop tab by the way my meter reads so I can save some digging..when in question though, I dig!

HH,
Nat

Looks like you did well. How cold is it today?

Some one lost a couple of good items.

Nat....the silver is great...the $7.69 in clad not far behind great day. Enjoy the time with your family.

Those are great finds from a seemingly hunted area. Most of my finds have been in wide open spaces... yes there is less garbage there.
Looking forward to your future post.

Hey Nat, the pin right next to the St. Chris pendant appears to be a current day Knights Templar symbol on it. Pretty cool find.

Good finds.

Just a word of caution. In the town park I hunt most often the maintenance director told me the one thing that pi$$es him off the most is when MDers show up and start digging on the playing fields, and especially the groomed base-lines of the baseball diamonds. His only stipulation whan I asked to hunt was to stay off the playing surfaces.

He was pleased I asked and since then I've seen him evict MDers on the fields while I was off to the sides.

Hey! Great bunch of clad, good gas money! Sterling pendant is cool! I like the item next to it with the Cross & Crown. Is it a Pendant? I found a 1920's camp meeting pin that has a cross and crown hanging below on a silk ribbon ( silk ribbon fell apart as I was removing it ).

That gold ring is not to far down the road for you. Good luck! Enjoy your Sunday w/family!

The sterling pin must of been a baseball player's, that didn't wanna get hit by a pitch lmao. Good ballfield cleanup sir.

I want to thank you all for your kind comments and for sharing the information on this post..I really enjoy sharing what I find with y'all and I appreciate your input.

HAppy hunting and be careful out there.

Nat
