Baltimore Parks once again open up for detecting, Indians, Wheats, Buffs & Marbles

September is the beginning of the metal detecting season in Baltimore City parks, These are the results of first 2 hunts, A total of 3 IHPs 1886, 1901, 1907. Three Wheat Cents 1920, 1947, 1956. Followed by two Buffalos 1920 & 1923, a sole early Jefferson 1946. A Small iron skeleton key, and finally 5 marbles, 3 of them from the same hole. Hope this season encounters silver in many forms. Good luck to all.

I love that you can find old coins in the parks...You never know what might turn up. I love the Indian Heads and Buffalos!

No, city parks close for detecting during july & august.

Interesting. I feel like I can understand that because they are probably packed in the summer and conditions are probably worse for digging plugs. Better that than never allowing detecting for sure.

Good to see some Baltimore treasures! Nice saves on all!

Excellent results,, 10 months is better than no months.
Congratulations

Congratualtions on the fine old coin shooting! :occasion14:

Yes a couple of Baltimore detactable parks date back to the mid 1800s

Thanx, yes some Baltimore parks are still producing.

Old city parks are the best. You have some nice stuff there!

My oldest IHP was found there in Leakin Park. 1866 in amazing condition. But I never go there alone. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1505159337.225902.webp
