Yo, oyster boys, what's up? ???

Well, The Three Datectateers got out today to my latest rasearch project. ;D After two failed attempts to locate the site earlier this year, the third time was the charm. ;D Colonial Silver Zeus secured permission for us to hunt this site, and Colonial KirkPA bought all three of us Chinese food for payment yesterday. ;D Thank you, bro! ;D

Simply stated, this is a 1787 site. ;D

Well, to make a long metal datecting story short, I got a nice Colonial button within the first 2 minutes of swinging like John Walter. I later got the awesome buckle later on during the day. I ended with 4 buttons for the day.

Well, folks, I was sweeping along like John "Johnny" Walter, when I was startled with an "R" on "Quarter" reading on my White's XL Pro 6000; it turned out to be an 1838 largie. :headbang: I went in a straight line and got another "R" on "Quarter," which turned out to be another largie. :headbang: I went in a straight line and got another "R" on "Quarter," which turned out to be anther largie. :headbang: I went 6 inches to the right of the last largie, and got a "P" on "Penny" reading on my White's. It turned out to be a Liberty Cap largie. :wav: :smileinbox: :occasion14: It is identifiable in person.

Overall, the group excavated 6 large cents today, with 2 of them being Draped Busts and 1 a Liberty Cap. ;D

Keep the fever high!

Kyle

Damned east-coast folks and their old sites

I'm still just digging clad out here in the west.

Yeah, what he said! Seriously though, words can't describe how cool that is to find 4 in 15 mins ;D What are the dates??

HH, Mark :icon_pirat:

179?, 1827, 1838, and 1839

Thanks for taking an interest in my metal datecting thread.

Well Kyle it looks like another fantastic site my boy........Another Liberty Cap for you. You tied me . Of course my second was a half cent. I couldn't believe you kept yelling out Copper. Four times in 15 minutes. This site should have many more goodies to keep us coming back for a good chunk of the summer. With alot of it being grass it should be easier on us. Not that we are turning into sissies or anything. Well at least I'm not. LOL. Next week Kirk should pop them out also. It will give us something to look forward to all week.
Zoyncle Zeus

Yup, I have skipped right over the Draped Bust largies and got 2 Liberty Caps in 1 month. It just doesn't get any better than this.

Remember when you said, "Kyle, if you find another one, I am going to tackle your sorry little arse." OOOOF :D Well, folks, I yelled out another one right after that.

We are a killer team, zoyncle. :D

Snicket
Yeah Kyle I remember telling you I was going to tackle you if you found another one but do you remember juking your bulky uncle so I missed. :icon_pirat:
Zoyncle

How can I forget that hilarious moment? OOOOF :D

I tumbled the Coronet cents a few days ago. Once I get my laptop back from Gateway, I'll post new pictures of them.

Keep the Colonial fever high, folks!

The park where you found the U.S. button should have a few of them.

Thanks, Civil! I love finding the relics as well.

I hope that "E" on "Quarter" reading that I couldn't dig up turns out to be another largie. It is below a rock and big root. Mr. relic shovel will be hauling some you know what on Sunday. :icon_sunny:

Kyle, you are on a SUPER roll with all those coppers! . . (it must be all that Chinese food that Kirk's been feeding you)

The way things are going, the next fortune cookie you pop open will have a green "coppa" inside :D

Your passion is high!

Thanks, watercolor, for the reply.

This is my 9th coppa for the year, and the 25th coppa for "The Three Datectateers." I guess we are doing pretty good for only getting out once a week. We are setting a goal of 50 + coppas for the 2008 season.

Now, get out there and find us some more suuuuuuuuper old coppa artifacts!
