I got out today with the twin Zoysters. A beautiful day to detect at a new colonial site. After I secured permission with the gracious husband and wife landowners we got to doing what we do best. Kyles research led us to another potential coppa windfall. We were swinging for no more than 15 minutes when I got the Q on quarter reading that for us usually means large coppa. In stead I was instantly brought back in time When the Zoysters were about 5 years old and I used to detect with the origin of our obsession my brother Kevin. We were all about silver. It didn't matter so much how old as long as it was silver.Around 1990 I would have danced a jig for what I just dug up. Don't get me wrong I still like 1900 's quarters it's just that where we live there is no reason why anyone shouldn't be after those Johnny Walter target 1700's silver. Still it is always good to find large silver.Kyle,Kirk and I were uuting away a mile a minute today but didn't find a colonial coin. I did find this cool target what I think is a watch fob. Happy swingin people
Chris

WOW!! I've never seen anything like that before! A find like that would make my month! CONGRATULATIONS, thanks for sharing

This looks to be what's on the relic.
An old early 1900's engine.
I'm not sure of the time frame though.

CSZ, as you stated today, these kind of "newer" coins are like collateral damage. We'll take them, but they are not what we are looking for, as stated in a John "Johnny" Walter voice. :D

Since we only get out ONE time per week, we are still having one heck of a year. We must seek permission for a "new" site next Saturday. I'll drive for the "permission mission," oyster oyster snitsle blurb. :D

I take my life in my hands on that one. OOOOOF
I will make sure I lead you 15 miles out of the way like you did to me today. OOOF

CSZ, even though we didn't excavate any coppas, we will very soon. I can feel it in me bones, oyster oyster snitsle blurb. :D

"Silver is silver, boy. It is just nice to get silver, boy," as stated by Larry Miller in his usual weakling-like voice. :D

Coppa Dude

Indeed Kirk. We will soon hit the jackpot soon my boy. I feel it also.

Good Hunting, still looking for my first barber quarter!

Keep @ it and HH!!

The old fob beats the Barber - unless the Barber is a key date :icon_scratch:

Thanks Derek. It is the coolest watchfob that I ever found. Too bad the Barb wasn't a 1 Reale though.

Silverfreak Dude. Us silverhounds never pass up the chance to pay homage to the gods of silver.
Thanks man.

Could it be possible to melt that qwatta down for its silver value? "The price of silver is high, boy," as stated by Larry Miller during a short metal detecting seminar prior to a metal detecting seminar walk with CSZ and wittle wittle. :D

I know how you feel, years ago I would have been happy with 1 roman coin. Now I'm not even happy with 10 in a day.

I really like those quarters, I need to find a big cache of them! Nice finds

The watch fob is a neat find and the barber quarter is in great condition. Kathy keeps asking has kirk found anything latley? I tell her he found love and his life has changed. :wav:
