Hello Everyone!!
It's been a fun detecting week, and a nice ending to another fantastic detecting year for me. I met Mike(Ratman) at a barrio park today for my last hunt of the year, and was able to find 20 wheaties, a 1" shallow Rosie, which sounded like a quarter, and a chopped war nickel. There was nobody in the park today. We had the whole park to ourselves, and the ground was easily diggable. I wish everyday there was like today.

On Tuesday, I met Marcus(Wirebender) for the first time. I met him out at one of his local parks in Redlands. DanaPontVal and DanaPointMike met up with us there yesterday also. This was the park Marcus found both of his silver coins this year. The park looked nice and old, but the ground there was highly mineralized, along with a plethora of rusty nails and fill dirt. I was very lucky to find an '06 Indian Head, 2 Mercs, and a 1916S barber dime, along with 10 wheats. Marcus, I had a good time, and I hope you learned a few things about how to better identify iron in the ground.
Those Redlands parks are tough....I'll take the LA parks any day.
The other silver and wheaties were found on another hunt with Val.
It was another successful week of detecting with my buddies.
After the New Year, I will put together my year end post with all my silver coins and other oldies, including my jewelry. I ended the year with 365 (
One for each day of the year
) silver coins, along with 43 pieces of silver jewelry. I haven't counted the wheaties, Injuns, or the $$$$$ of clad yet. Stay tuned.....
Happy New Year To All My Friends!!
