Truth and I hit one of his permission the other day, it’s an old shell midden that was once part of an old German town but the town property was overtaken by Lake Pontchartrain and the surrounding swamp, what was left was bought up by the railroad.

Evan though I have a brand new Equinox 800, I'm determined to learn the Deus, so on this hunt and all the prior hunts I was using the Deus.

Truth pulled some nice keepers out on a couple of his prior visits, today all I got was some sort of ornate handle, pictured below.

The following pics show the handle with some other finds from previous hunts, which include a toy 1911 .45 caliber ACP, a boy scout tie clasp, a Washington Parish Fair doubloon, a Methodist church pin, an assortment of lead (mostly modern), a valve stem cap and just under $5.00 in clad coinage to include a Canadian penny

Looks like a great hunt to me. Congrats!

The church pin is actually a boy scout religious award medal. So there must have been some frequent boy scout or perhaps youth camping activity in the area based on the other finds.

It was part of the Methodist churches youth center, so that makes sense. Thanks VF

Cool finds
Keep at it, the Deus will click...

Use Deus Fast and factory presets. It's a very forgiving machine.

hey you found some very cool stuff, can't find the super awesome stuff all the time but we try LOL.

Neat finds. Looks like you are on a scout camp. The neckerchief slide is technically from Cub Scouts btw...but always fun to find cause Scouts of all ages lose all kinds of stuff! lol
