Wife and I are in the final planning stages for the Bayou Hunt 2009. Wife and I enjoyed the first one so much that when an opportunity presented itself, we couldn't pass it up. My wife's cousin own's the Jim Bowie's Relay Station in Enterprise, Louisiana. http://www.jimbowiesrelaystation.com/ Not terribly far from the original Bayou Hunt and we already have permission to hunt the grounds there. Also, we are looking at Fort Hill/Fort Beauregard in Harrisonburg as our main hunt site. (Civil War battleground) http://www.concordiasentinel.com/news.php?id=89 Wifey is hard at work working out hotels and camping spots in the area. Basically looking at interest before we plan further. Hope to see you all again soon.

Edit: Dates will be October 9, 10 and 11. Finilizing the agenda as we speak.

Sounds great! Let me know what we can do to help. Weather should be wonderful! -Noodle :hello2: :hello:

Ate at the resturant many times. The Harrisonburg Cemetary is where the two live cannon balls were mounted on the front gate posts for about a hundred years. The old Baptist Church there still shows where it was struck my cannon balls on the river side. A metal detecting buddy of mine, who is a member here, found some Spanish coins on the river bank, right below the old fort.
The only luck I ever had there, was a nervious kiss from a little Harrisonburg cutie. Now that was almost further back than I can think,,,,Middle 1960's.

It's great to see that there may be another Bayou hunt! Will be keeping an eye out for any and all info!

I'm always up for a hunt with the CTH and/or Bayou crew!!

Sounds like it could make for a fun weekend! Any updates?

I'm still in, Zen. Let me know what I can do to help.

For all the rest of you who do not know the areas, research them until JUDIE can get us some printed history. The Jim Bowie Relay Station is ancient history around here; the Harrisonburg site I'm not familiar with, but will definitely research! Actually, anything in Louisiana is historical. And October is a great time to visit!

Looking good, Zen. I checked out the area what you posted...W :o W, I'm ready to head on over. :D

 RR

What part of La is this in? Where is 'home base'? Bring a sack lunch?

Zoom in & out...a little further south of the original Bayou Hunt...between Monroe & Vicksburg!! Hey, I had to find it myself. Oops, not working right, type in Harrisonburg, LA and not Enterprise, LA. Enterprise, LA does not show up on google maps, but Harrisonburg does...looks closer to Natchez, MS

OH ZENNNNNN!!! Where are youuuuu? ....You've got fish on the hook! You need to reel 'em in! :D

Hey Judie...that link is just a general google earth map...I had to look it up all by myself! :-\ :D
