This is a 426th SIGNAL BATTALION pinback.* It is orange and white, the colors traditionally associated with the signal force.* Their are four roundels that stand for the four area signal centers that were installed, operated, and maintained by the battalion. The radiant edges represent the emission and transmission of signals, the gold annulets refer to circuit control. The chevron alludes to the mountains of Italy and stands for the battalion’s two campaigns in that country during World War II. Green, white, and red are the Italian national colors. The embattled division line refers to combat service and also indicates that the unit was organized as a signal combat battalion.
