I had a great time this weekend & saved a little history! I got out with my buddy Dean Saturday to a Victorian house we’ve been eying a while. Dean had the find of the day with a 1781 Spanish 1 reale, his oldest coin! My favorite find was the NC State Seal Button that’s loaded with gilt. Dean found one too! It is post Civil War but undoubtedly associated with the Horner Military School which moved to Charlotte in 1914 (backmark is broad 1870-1920). It was found on the former campus, I have a collection from this school so happy to add it. I also found some other interesting relics & a few bottles from the 20s. Can’t wait to see what else the site gives up!
