I coaxed a couple more coppers out of the dirt from
a cellar hole I’m digging out. Some come out great, some pop out looking like a ox chewed on it. The weather has been mild so I went for it.

7-sided copper and a dog nose pewter spoon handle.

The verdigris was awful so I did some electrolysis. Turned out to be a Miller W-3215 (32.1-X.3), URS-9. Not bad

The other copper was shot to hell. You win some you loose some. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1582253544.974330.webp

Also found a few more buttons. I’ll clean those and add tomorrow if I get a chance. It’s my buddy Bartek’s birthday and we’re going hunting with the veritable Treblehunter! Stay tuned

Nice finds! When you say dug out a cellar hole, do you mean you literally went into the hole and started digging or did you find these near the cellar hole? I've thought of digging out a few cellar holes, but just didn't think it'd be worth it , but maybe i'm wrong?!

I actually dug out a chimney collapse and one section of collapsed wall. There’s no telling if it’s worthwhile until you get into it, but that’s a roll of the dice we all take. I’ve dug for days and found nothing at some places, and scored huge at others. Crapshoot

Very Nice!! Congrats!!!

Never seen a copper that looks like our 50p! Cool!

Was that filed off on the edges ? I never have seen 18th C. coins with that profile ..

A most unusual find. Very nice, and it cleaned up well too!

Wow that is one of the most unique CT coppers that I could imagine is out there! One has to wonder was it minted that way? Was it clipped to steal some copper, or was it modified out of boredom etc.? Weighing it may shed some light on things. We may never know. That electrolysis cleaned it up extremely well! Congrats on it all and thanks for sharing!!!

Interesting and unique coin! Nice job on the clean up. Congrats!!

Holy moly that looks freakin cool wow. Keep pulling those bad boys outta there save 1 for me lol. Great job. Tommy

That's a very unique coin Steve! Congratulations!

Never seen one like this before like the others. It's pretty cool. :icon_thumright:

Nice coppers! That CT certainly has some character!

Good show Scrappy!

Prior to cleaning, and after I sent a pic to friends, someone sent me a 50p photo from the 19-teens. I said I hope not since everything I’ve dug here has been at least150 years older

Most certainly filed. I’ve found many personalized old coppers with multiple holes, filings, etc. probably tinkering to make the time pass. Here are two examples from my display case ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1582380322.308506.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1582380354.396206.webp
