Hello everyone. I detected an old house in my town Circa 1812 today. Dug tons of square nails and trash. So I started walking a trail that the rain washed out. Came to a spot where there was alot of pottery shards and bricks. As I was walking something caught my eye. Looked down and low and behold there sits a sweet Tombac button. Right on top of the dirt. Wiped the dirt off and it shined like crazy. I believe it is very old. The house was built in 1812 so it is period. After that i walked across the street to an open lot and dug the gold ring and little road runner. I guess it is a road runner. It has a piece of old turquoise inside the road runner. I get home and wash the pieces off and off comes the gold. I cuss..Then think about the nice button I found and it all gets better. Hope you guys like the pics.

Nice one and just because the site is 1812 or later doesn't mean the button can't be earlier.

Beautiful Tombac, Zax!

Really nice button.

They are a 100 to one in my book. I'll find a 100 flat buttons before I locate one of those beauties.

I agree.

Is there a pattern on the reverse, that would be unusual in my experience.

No Pattern. On the back of the button it looks like a Vinyl record. You know how vinyl has the grooves cut into them. That is what it looks like. Like it was spun.
