Beautiful US Boxplate!

I went out relic hunting today with a friend of mine in a new spot. Its in some woods in Orange county VA. We hunted for awhile and I found a bullet. Then alittle while later I get a strong signal and dig up this Boxplate. We were both really excited to see that come out of the ground. I will definately be making future trips to this spot.

How would you go about cleaning this? I took a toothpick and rubbed off most of the dirt already but I dont have much experience cleaning these.
