Beginner's Guide is Locked - Did Somebody Misbehave?

Due to an anomaly with the site (a bug!), if you use Private Browsing (IE or Firefox, doesn't matter), the index page of the forum doesn't know that you are logged in. Other pages know, but not the index page. I use private browsing. This bug appeared spontaneously so I'm sure it is related to a change that was made. I notified the web heads about it as soon as I noticed it, but they weren't concerned because nobody but me complained.

For the most part, it hasn't bothered me. But a side effect is that I don't automatically see what threads have new posts. I'm sure I miss a bunch of stuff because of it.

Anyway, if something happened in the Beginner's Guide to get it locked, I missed it all. I'm guessing the subject of marking dumps was raised? Anybody want to give me a hint as to if that is what it was - or if it was something else?

IMO they are trying to make CRH a little more secretive seeing as how I dont recognize over half the names I see posting now.

Maybe adds in the local paper or on Cragslist or better yet facebook and twitter explaining in every detail how to hunt silver will help keep the hobby alive.

*sarcasm off*

Jeff of PA locked it some time ago when someone brought up the topic of a book that described how to CRH, what coins to CRH for, etc. It was assumed that there would be a nasty discussion following.

I see. It's bizarre to me that the beginner's guide would be locked over a presumption that ppl would react badly to a post.

I did notice the mention of the book as being the last post. Has anyone seen it (the book)?
