Being Sore, Sleepy, & Completely Wore Out Is No Excuse For Not Finding A Silver Coin
Today it took everything that I had to mustard up enough energy to keep from laying down from the get go. I would have stayed home today if weren't for Jason visiting from out of town to do some metal detecting with me.
The first two permission hunts produce nothing except for a bunch of modern coins, so we moved on to the third site. Upon arriving there we agreed the grass was too well manicured for us to be doing a lot of digging, so decided to cherry the silver coins and leave the copper pennies, clad dimes and quarters.
Finally, I got my search coil over a couple of Rosie dimes, which was a relief to myself and Jason, since he already had his Rosie dime. Cherry picking that yard went quickly, so we moved on to another site were he found a huge silver ring right off the bat. The front yard was small and we covered it in short order.
At the final site, I did manage to find another Rosie dime, but shortly there after I decided sit in the shade in a comfortable swing and let Jason detect. He managed to find a Buffalo nickel and some other neat stuff.
My junk piles for both days were really puny and I wasn't too convincing that normally that I would be able to keep up with him if I weren't so wore out. I finally got to meet Jason's wife when I dropped him off at the hotel. He got himself a good one.
This was my 54th hunt for the year and my silver coin total for the year now stands at 162. All done without getting skunked on a single hunt.
My F75DST detector settings: 9.0, Sensitivity 85, DE Mode, 3H Tones, Disc Level 0, GB 61.
