I have no idea what metal this is, is unlike anything I have ever found.
Its a lightish metal but not aluminium. Not like any alloy I know, maybe a unusual mix of pewter?
What puzzels me is the large thinkness of the broken pin on the back.
Its designed to look like the old Crotal bells. Is it just horse funiture? Doesn't seem right for leather.
Any ideas on use & date?
