Sorry for not posting yesterday when we found these but after 24 hours digging in 3 days & after Dad had logged all the coins, I was too tired.
Did 9 hours (Dad did 7).

Got our best 1 day total of 87 Bronze Roman Coins :icon_thumright:
1 Celtic Bronze-CUNOBELIN 20-43AD Celtic Warrior on Horse R (new type for us)
Several Roman Brooches
Silver Roman Pinhead (my first Silver example) :)
First hoop Roman bronze earring
Fragment of a Roman Ring
Very Cool Roman Bronze 'sword' Pendant :icon_thumright: (our first)

We have now finished the 'Brooch Field' for this year

There are some nice big ones in the pic. And all this fibulas... Looks like this site goes over the complete roman occupation.

The site does produce lots of 1st & 2nd C brooches but not many coins, mostly 3rd & 4th

Unbelievable :o :icon_thumleft:

Shame it's done though, I was half expecting a Roman gold :-\

Your a dreamer like Dad :laughing9:
Not even I expect one of them even with all the Roman sites we do, mostly its from Military Forts (we have none).
Its on the Wish List but I'm sure it will be (if ever) from a random field & not any good site.

It will come right out of the blue when you least expect it, but I'm sure that with the time, you and your Dad put in, it is just a matter of time....Great haul of finds :headbang: I hope you seal all these coins :icon_thumleft:

WOW! Talk about your Roman coin envy!

Yeah, I know England is much older than Oregon. But still wish I could find a little something older than 1800's.

WOW!!! :o :o What a huge haul of ancient goodies!!! :headbang: :headbang: :notworthy:

Crusader, great job as always.
I have just gotten back into the sport after a 6yr layoff.
I have to ask Crusader, after seeing your Banners and the other great posts.
What do you do with all of that great history? I know that England requires people to turn in all of their found treasure.
Do they buy it? Do you give it to muesems?
While I was hunting on the beach here in the FL Keys a English visitor started telling me what he had to do when he found treasure.
Seems hard to me to have to give it up.
Just wondering from someone in awe of your finds.

thats awesome, you r very lucky to find roman coins.

I bet you were tired. Now that's a good day of hunting. Nice finds

I keep all my good finds (minus a few given to landowners). 99.9% of my finds are not declarable by Law. All of those that I have declared have been return to me (about 18 months later, slow process). The Viking Ingot is likely to be brought by a Museum, which is fine by me. I do have many items displayed locally. :icon_thumright:
I'm a collector & hoarder

This board needs to set up a second banner just for your finds!
