Besides halves and dimes, I do about a cent box or two per week, usually the String & Son ones. I'd say my average is 9-10 wheats per box, and about 4-5 Canadians. I've found one Indian since I've started (30 boxes), a beautiful 1902 coin.

So I was surprised by these results: 47 wheats, mostly 40s and 50s, plus a 1919D, a 1934 and 1939.

Anyone have any idea as to why this box would have so many? Is it just luck of the draw? It's not like they were hand-rolled by some little old lady getting rid of her old pennies... almost every roll had a wheat in it, some with two or even three. Never seen anything like for a String box.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. HH!

Someone probably dumped an old hoard at a bank somewhere...that bank sent them to their depository...which rolled them up and sent them to your bank for your boxes. Along the way, they got partially spread out. Instead of concentrated in a couple rolls, they were spread out over your search and probably a few other boxes along their travels.

Great finds! I'm getting a box in today, hope I have that kind of luck!

nice find. I usually avergae about 9 wheats per box as well. I would suggest ordering one or two more boxes from the same branch
