Had the day off from work today so was able to put in some time detecting at an 1800's farm house I've found a few nice things at before. Started off slow first couple hours. Couple wheaties and trash. Did find an old thimble, made by the Worcester salt company. Rang real high like silver but it's real light so not sure. Hit a spot in the yard I've done before and scored an awesome New York officers staff button. 1860's I believe. Decided to hunt a section I'd not done before and second target turned out to be my first ever large cent. Couldn't believe it. It's not in the best of shape but a largey non the less, couldn't b happier. Pic is after cleaning up with just water. Got it soaking in olive oil now hoping it brings out some more detail, especially the date. Found a few other interesting things, old pocket knife, back of a pocket watch ect... Sorry so long winded. Thanks for looking
