Sometimes, an actual garden trowel is the only acceptable digger.

I carry a lesche digging tool which looks very much like a garden trowel until i take it out then if you are close you will see the serrations on the one side. I carry it eihrr in my finds bag or in the sheets that it came with.

I have two of the Wilcox 101-S model . They are fantastic diggers, small and compact. The Wilcox 101-S fits in the side pocket of most carpenter paints and is hidden out of site.
