Looking for a new hand digger tool

I pretty much use a KBar-style knife with a sawtooth spine. The saw works great on smaller roots. I have a small shovel for deeper targets, but the knife handles 90% of my digs.

Got an off brand Lesche from KellyCo when I bought a detector.
Stopped at their place the following fall, as it was worn out.
They grumbled, nearly an hour passed vefore they replaced it.
(Last time doing any business with them)
Wore the that one out in a few months.

I won a Lesche in a contest and have been using it trouble free for 15 yrs.

If you buy something it's worth the extra $$$ for quality.

Predator tools Model 85 hand Digger best diggers made and their shovels cannot be beat the model 24 Phoenix Shovel

Mini shovel.....
You look way to young and groovy to be digging up hands like an old papy...

Those Rambo knife/spoon combinations are the Metal Detecting world's version of Boat shoes and elasticated waistband casual pants...

Been using an SE Pro (looks like a Lesche). About $20 on Amazon. Carbon steel and after a couple of years use, still looks pretty much new. I know many that won't use a knock off brand, but this one is holding up very well. Carbon steel is carbon steel after all.

I have this one, it's awesome. A nice mid range tool, I don't use my large shovel anymore or my small digger .

I main;y use a shovel and a Predator (Hand digger)

I've been using the Predator Little Eagle for years now and am very happy. Good compromise between a small hand trowel and full size shovel. The half length with T top allows you leverage with very sharp edges to cut through roots. I've stood and jumped on it without bending or danger of breakage. Easy to carry in the field and quickly change hands while detecting. Plus, it straps onto my backpack for the longer excursions. I would never go back to hand trowel. I even gave away my nice White's trowel. Made in USA.

Agree 100% - the Lesche hand digger is all I've used for the last 15 years.
It's a pretty tough on my blue jeans but I just put the Lesche in my back pocket (no sheath) and go hunt.
The Sampson and other small shovels are great but I just don't care to carry the bulk around.
