Best metal detector for trashy areas?

Hi there everyone. So im on the hunt to buy a new metal detector but am looking for one thats very good at specifically finding coins and such in really rusty metal trashy areas. All ive used for the last bunch of years is my minelab excalibure. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Small coil 6", 5.75" Concentric. Too many machines to list them all. High recovery speed, Superior discrimination, Tesoro Compadre; Minelab Equinox 600; Teknetics T2; it's a long list.

I agree with Terry it's more coil size and the machines recovery speed.

Thanks for the few tips on a few different types of detectors that ill now look into and the tip for using a smaller coil in trashy areas that are recommended for hunting in trashy areas. I am also leaning towards the makro multi kruzer. Has anyone ever used this machine in very trashy areas with any success? Thanks for your help.[h=1][/h]

Yes the list is long and the price range huge. I like the XP Deus with the HF elliptical coil. Vferrari here calls it the "little laser."

Yes, I have used it in trashy parks and on iron infested beaches. It is a very impressive machine. You'll eventually need the 7" Concentric coil ($145), as part of your arsenal.

A Buddy of mine uses a bounty hunter with a 3” coil ! Makes killer finds to boot!
