My first hunt this month

We had moderating temperatures in Baltimore city today, so in the south of town some of the ground thawed. Had some technical difficulties with headphones but still had some satisfying finds and ran into a club member out detecting, as well.

I would appreciate your input on the buckle; it measures about 3/4 inch wide by 1 and 1/8th inch long. It looks similar to colonial period pieces I've seen dug.

The button is a naval motif with center anchor and braided rope for the rim; back is missing. No idea of vintage.

Nice finds, Welcome to the board

Awesome finds. Really like the Navy button. HH:thumbsup:

sweet finds, congrats

Very nice! I found the same buckle not long ago and the pointed parts are actually sharp almost like it was used like a tie down or something of the like

It's nice to see our neighbors in Maryland are able to dig. Nice finds.

Congrats on getting a little silver. The buckle looks like the old ones that I see on here, but I am no expert. GL&HH.

I like the merc, but LOVE the buckle. Great job!

Good finds. The buckle does look old. I don't think the button is missing the back. Looks like a one piece buttons because of the placement of the holes. I'm guessing 1940's to 1950's on the button. Could be wrong though! [emoji2]

Those mercs are fun to find!
