Howdy all,

I'm getting tired of digging big holes and sometimes not finding what I'm looking for. So, like many of you, I've decided to get a pinpointer.

The problem is, most of my money is still in the ground waiting for me. I need to get one for less than $100 delivered.

I've been looking at:

#1 Vibrapobe: http://www.southern-treasures.com/vibra_probe_page.htm

#2 Teknetics or Wizard Vib Probe: http://billsdetectorsales.com/pinpointers.html

#3 Automax Precision V4: https://www.kellycodetectors.com/vibra/handhelds.htm

What do you think?

Thanks.

I have the Automax V4 . I like it alot, cheap price when I bought My Garrett from Kellyco.
It has helped find many smaller items and shown Me when My dig is just slightly off!
Don't know how I found the really small stuff before. Lead bullets, pieces of iron ,etc I've heard good stuff about most pinpointers- don't have one?? Get one!!! :)

bullseye is under $100,works great

If you don,t have a pinpointer any of the under $100 units will do. They are all similar and worth the money in saved time.

there a site called thunting.com,it has directions on how 2 build your own(cheap)

I have owned Bullseye pinpointers & like em best, but for $54 get the Technetics! I bought one a couple months ago & it works perfectly, has manual sensetivity adjust & I beleive it has a 3 year warranty. For half the price of a bullseye2 it is a great bargain! Have had no problems with mine at all!

Thank you all for the replies!

I did end up ordering the Teknetics and can't wait for it to get here. Just today, I was out at the local state park and had to give up on a few holes because I couldn't find the target.

Where can you order the Technetics pinpointers from?

See link #2 in the first post in this thread. That's where I ordered mine from. Bill has great customer service and is very easy to deal with. He takes paypall too, which was a bonus for me.

have you recieved the technetics yet? if so how do you like it?

I got it about a week ago now. Since then, I've been out about 5 times. It works really well.

I've found that using the pinpointer cuts my target recovery time by about two thirds. It isn't necessary to use it on every hole, but if I don't find the target in the first 5 seconds, in goes the pinpointer and the target is recovered (with a very few exceptions.) I'll never be without one again.

As far as this one goes, I think it's a good value. For $56.45 delivered, I'd buy it again. Using it is as easy as turning it on and sticking it in the hole. The only thing I don't like about it (so far) is the battery cover, it's kind of flimsy, but so far has held up fine. If it breaks, duct tape will fix it.

I may eventually upgrade to a better pinpointer, but I suspect that the Teknetics will last me a good while.

I also have the Teknetics. And I agree with the battery cap(got a strip of duct on it)

Cuts my digging time in half...in soft ground it's great, pokes right in...Now I have to find a place to carry it (falls out of shirt pocket alot..it's a tough unit)

Also the probe & body are one piece, I turn the sensetivity up to max & shove it 3-4 inches in the dirt............its very tough! Best pinpointer for the money & I might have been mistaken, does it have a 5 year waranty?

I need to Thank you..for your posts.. :)

I was just getting prepared to shell out..$279.00..for a Treasuremate pinpointer!!

NOW, if anyone has any tips for buying a larger coil .. mostly for cache hunting in Nebraska..on a MXT..Love to hear your thoughts or relevant sites!!

Thanks!!

David

I have done some searching on ebay for bigger coils... Haven't bought any yet, but looking at the Deep Scan for the MXT.
