Question for you guys....the first point I found out here, the tip was broken off. Today, 3 months later, I dug up part of the tip, it’s a perfect fit! Can’t believe it, I’m pumped.....feels pretty good. Now, I want to glue it back together, please share your advice on best way to glue it back together. Couple pics for you

Thanks ahead of time

Cool find, congrats on matching up a break. Looks like a great piece of Carter Cave material.

I usually just use a little dab of whatever glue I can find (elmers, superglue, etc), press the pieces together, and wipe off any excess. As it sets, I'll wipe any shiny glue off with water, alcohol or acetone so the surface is free from glue residue.

If you think that you might find more of the tip, then you want to make sure you can get the other piece in there. (Often times those wedge breaks only fit back together when you can move other pieces out of the way.) I'd go with something not too strong that soaks off in water.

Thank you for the quick response! 8) great point about not using anything too strong, I was actually just noticing that when I put the two pieces together , the other piece will definitely be a weird fit or jam to get in the crevice or crack of the break. I’m really happy to find more parts of this one, being it was my first real worked artifact. Plus, someone actually had mentioned on here I might eventually find pieces that would fit together! Thanks again !

Elmer's school glue is supposedly easily reversible. I hope so cause I have some refitted material I put together that I shouldn't have. Some day I'll drop them in water and find out
.
