Dubuque Iowa, Kelly's Bluff
Several caches were discovered here in the late 1800's. Old Tom Kelly the miser lead miner had died claiming none would ever find his money! But some was found shortly after his death. About 5 different caches of differing amounts have been found. The two largest were of $10,000 each in gold coins. The smallest was still over $1,000. All coins in the caches dated before 1864. There is still suppose to be over $35,000 buried on the bluff. Detectorist still hunt the wooded bluff side to this day and find occasional gold coins. This is the best spot to find a gold coin. If all the missing 35,000 in gold was 2 1/2 dollar gold pieces there would be enough for each member on tnet! What are you all waiting For?

Pete,
I've been to this area. Its a very steep wooded hillside. As I recall, the property is/was owned by the Catholic church.
