This weekend was a Bucket Lister for me, and though I only found 4 coins(2 on each day),all of them are coins I have never found. My previous oldest coin was an Indian Head from 1868 that I had found over 2 years ago.
The place I went to was a retreat of sorts for people near and far in and around the 1840's. Saturday I found my first large cent and Seated dime.

Sunday I found my first half dime about 50 feet from the seated dime that I had found the day before. The other large one cent piece is an 1864 from Nova Scotia. Queen Victoria is beautiful and still highly detailed. I'm planning on heading out there after work. I'll keep you posted on what i find.

Nice coins . I have yet to find a seated .

Congratualtions on the old coin shooting! :occasion14:

Double seated in one weekend is AMAZING! It took me over 3 years to find my first one. Congratulations on some beautiful digs!

Great finds...love that silver and the NS copper ain't to shabby...but I'm a little biased when it comes to my home province!

it's a beautiful coin from a beautiful place.

Thats a great coin collection right there. I would pound that place!!!!!

Those are some really good finds. I love that Nova Scotia penny, what a nice patina. It's funny, I have found one of those and it had the same coloration. Very nice find. I'm still waiting to find a seated coin, they seem too rare here abouts. Like A2 said, pound that site!:hello:

BOOM! Nice coins! I hope to find one or two of those in my lifetime but alas I'm from CA where the oldies are few and far between. Hmm maybe theres a gold coin in my yard...I'm going to go look right now.:icon_thumright: Congrats on the impressive finds!

Congrats on all of your "firsts". Those are some great coins to be digging, especially those Seated Coins.

Looks like you found yourself a great spot to detect! I would get back there and grid...then re-grid...then do it all again a few more times. Please let us know what other goodies you pull out of the ground.

That's a stellar day, congrats on the fantastic coin finds!!

WOW! Some great oldies there. Like previously stated POUND THAT SIGHT!:headbang:

One "first" is great- four is absolutely AWESOME- Congrats!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I did go out there again yesterday and found nothing but shotgun shells and slugs, but i'm not deterred. I'm gonna head out again today after work and try again. The lack of party supplies (pull tabs, old cans) seems to be a good sign to me. I'll keep you posted.

Sweet seated silver. One of them is on my wish list. Hopefully there will be one with my next nova scotia one cent! [emoji106]
