my homes original private dump.
This was a Mining Town in the mid to 1800'S to early 1900's
in the the 1950's the mine sold the Homes for $500.00 a piece.
Not sure when the Private dumps started, there was an older dump at the End of town.
in the 1960's a Bottle Digger went through it, Digging old Bitters Etc.
Unfortunately a Greedy Landowner Owns it now.

So I Need to wait & Hope my Neighbor Buys that land Also at some point

That's a lot of bottles from such a relatively small tip-up mound. IMO, the finds are more special & personal when you find these in your own yard. Thanks for pointing out the risks of losing the paint on freshly dug bottles. What have you found to be a best practice for keeping the paint?

Southeast of you, we've been fortunate this week with the storms - but much of your stormwater is racing downstream to the Chesapeake Bay as well as Delaware Bay and picking up debris and pollutants on the way. I expect fossil hunting to be bad for a while due to high and muddy stormwater and overflows from sewer plants (bathe in alcohol anyone?).

Perhaps you could use limewater for contrast or try putting a piece of printer paper down the spout.

I'm not Sure How long it takes for the Paint to Re-dry Completely.

I Cheated by an Hour. (was still over 24 Hours in my house )Used Magic Power Widow Cleaner on a Cotton Ball.
Still wasn't Completely Safe :( May have to try and Go a week Next time :(

Much better Jeff! I've never seen one without a cow. My mother's younger sister married a soldier who was stationed in our community during WWII. It was called the Remount Station and they raised Mules, Horses and Medevac Dogs for the military. Uncle Sidney was from West Texas and was a horse breaker. He was a good honest soul and so tall he had to pull his Stetson off to come through a 7' door. I learned that after the war he'd been a milkman in Roswell NM. He called me when my Mom died and I couldn't help but ask him about his opinion on the whole Roswell experience. He said, and I quote " I don't see how they could have faked those little bodies!" Best wishes!

Nice recovery Jeff, & nice pictures as always, nice cleaning on the milk bottle, congrats. I have a thing for local milk bottles and I fill them with synthetic beads I get from the craft store for very little $.WIN_20190531_20_53_12_Pro.webp
