ANOTHER SCARE TACTIC PERPETUATED BY MEDIA (and you apparently). Been around forever and the sting apparently lasts for several hours. Nobody is disfigured or killed.

I have been in the water in Galveston and Corpus Christi (Padre Island) in the past two weeks and no bearded fireworms seen.
