Just purchased the 4" MPS coil for my BH Pioneer 505 detector. Is anyone out there who's used this coil and can allude to its usefullness? I primarily hunt for coins/jewellery in high traffic locations with inordinate amount of trash, i.e., pop tops, pull tabs, alum. cans, bottle caps, etc. I've been happy with the std. 8" coil but would like to eliminate some of the 'chatter' and 'bouncing' tones that seems to be a result of the multitude of trash targets.

Thanks in advance, GL and HH.

Good choice of coils

Great choice of coils. I use the 4" coil on both my Pioneer 505 and Legacy 3500 detectors when searching trashy areas. and yes it is a good coil when it comes to target eparation. It's also deadly accurate when it comes t pinpointing targets.

I use one on my Pioneer 505 and Discovery 2200. They help a lot in trashy areas but you do lose some depth and naturally your detection area is much smaller so take your time and make sure to overlap your swing. Pin pointing is spot on.
