It`s waterproff...but the heavy salt in the water/ wet sand will overwhelm it and you will have to lower the sen.to much...stick to the dry sand.

Exactly! And one stray wave and your machine could be history.
 

Its been my experience that given the weather, the salt spray gets all over everything. Its still a good idea to put some kind of cover over the unit to prevent it from getting wet. A small sandwich bag works great..
 

So, a sandwitch bag over the coil, or the reciever?
