Yup, if it looks silver, it should be unless someone painted the edge.

I mark bicentennials with a silver sharpie and release em back into the wild.

Yes, 40% silver.

Good luck with the rest!!

After looking at 100s of thousands of coins I know the diff between sharpie and silver- At least on my good days...;)

I found three of them a few weeks ago in two boxes. It was pretty clear I found someones collection, since they were with some pretty nice uncirculated 40%s, and overall just a lot of silver in those two boxes. Haven't seen any before or since

I just checked them , the ones I found are S mints but are uncirculated, not proofs. They have great luster and no scratches, but not the mirror field and frosted kennedy that I see on the proofs

I found a few more proof silver coins before I called it a night- one being a 1999 silver proof. For some reason its a bit more valuable than the rest(and has mintage under 1 mil).

Nice job!!! the 1999-S silver proof is more valueable because the 1999-S silver proof set has a lower mintage than the other proof sets, 804,565 minted compared to other years. Can't wait to hear the totals!
