Big Ben, Indian Men and Some Mercs!

Hey folks,

Had what’s likely to be one of my best days of the year today. I returned to my 1886 permission in search of a seated coin. Still no luck on that front but it was another great day.

Spent about 4 hours hitting the dirt. Managed some great stuff.

Here’s the tally:
-63-D Franklin
-2 Mercs (39-S and 44-S)
-2 Indians (98, 05)
-4 Wheats

Also found my first thimble, a pocket watch and some other goodies.

Nice finds! I guess I got lucky finding two Franklins only 300 yards apart last fall, I would trade either of them for a Walker or a Barber tho!

Great coins Wash. After 30 years of detecting, and finding 28 Half Dollars, I still do not have a Franklin. One day, I will walk over one !

I would say any day when a Franklin half is dug to be a great day.

Trezurehunter, I find lots more walker half dollars than Franklin ones.Keep at it and one will certainly surface for you.Your join date was 2003,so how many years have you actually been detecting?

Congrats on the great silver Wash, looks like another great year in the making for you. It’s amazing how rare the Franklin half’s seem but I found the same year and mint mark like yours What I really wish to find this year is barber half or Morgan dollar, they don’t even need to be key dates
