Big Ben, Indian Men and Some Mercs!

Hey folks,

Had what’s likely to be one of my best days of the year today. I returned to my 1886 permission in search of a seated coin. Still no luck on that front but it was another great day.

Spent about 4 hours hitting the dirt. Managed some great stuff.

Here’s the tally:
-63-D Franklin
-2 Mercs (39-S and 44-S)
-2 Indians (98, 05)
-4 Wheats

Also found my first thimble, a pocket watch and some other goodies.

Trezurehunter, I find lots more walker half dollars than Franklin ones.Keep at it and one will certainly surface for you.Your join date was 2003,so how many years have you actually been detecting?

The majority of my Halves are also Walking Liberty, with some Barbers and Kennedy's thrown in. I have actually been detecting for 30 years. Dont get me wrong, I feel fortunate to have found as many Half Dollars as I have, just have that Franklin on my bucket list, and after 30 years of detecting, my bucket list is very short !

Thanks Tommy (and everyone)! Oh man, poor wash jr. He’s been sick with mono the last couple weeks so he hasn’t gotten out. I think he’s hoping to in the next week or so though. I’ve been living an hour and a half away from him for most the year so far so joint hunts haven’t come easy.
