That would be me :) I am reading through as much stuff as i can, but don't get some of the things on the PCGS site, like What does SMS mean for the mint mark (ie 1999-SMS) vs say 1999-D?

i think i have figured out most of the others as they have a pretty good glossary, but being new to the whole thing and all, suppose i's just a big dummy till someone gits me a edumaction ;)

I thing it refers to the mint mark. SMS = small "S". A lot of coins had different size mint marks, e.g., 1945 S mercury dime was produced with a normal S and a micro S which is referred to as a small S.

goldinmypan is correct, in the numismatic world SMS refers to special mint set.
