The best piece from a camp I call the wells. Natural gas wells in the area.
Because of the homestead location, I’m sure the ground has been plowed 100 years. 2610C2DE-9902-4AC4-9330-B83FFE97C98C.webp583C740F-A7FE-4103-843F-83B2BCD41DC0.webp15EC4053-2486-4C80-952D-B5EFEED2590D.webpFEDC0774-43A0-42A1-9D04-3CA21465DDD8.webp

Nice find, especially in that condition considering the plowing that goes on there.

Please forgive my ignorance but what does Flattop mean?

The lithic is Flattop chalcedony. The source is on the eastern Colorado plains.
Also Under the dirt and sandy overburden10+ feet is a covered up petrified forest. I have a few big chunks Ive found around stock dams and some dry arroyos.
Its my favorite lithic. I posted my best frame if you can find it.
