I am new to this web site and was wondering if anybody here could tell me a little more about this bottle. It is from Columbus, GA and was found in a creek in Russell Co., AL. I would like to know what year it was manufactured and what was in it. It has the word "root" at the base of it. Thanks for any information.

I'd say 1920-30, but I have no clue as to what flavor soda it held...Bottles made by Root are collectible, here's a bit about the company...Jim

The Root Glass Company in Terre Haute, Indiana, was one of Coca-Cola's bottle suppliers. It was Earl R. Dean, Root Glass Company's bottle designer, who designed the famous contour Coca-Cola bottle. In the mid 1930s, Chapman J. Root, the company's president, sold the Root Glass Company to Owens-Illinois Glass Company. Dean went on to work in other Midwestern glass factories.

Epackage is right on. I have several SS Cokes of this make"Root"...Yours is most likely a soda of some sort. We find a lot of Root made bottles. But never ones like yours. That just may be a very nice little catch! jgas

that's a cool bottle. Nice shape and the design on the bottom is really neat.
