Here is another recent find. Came out of a field that has produced mostly Big Sandy's but also a Pinetree, a bird point and a couple of other types. About thirty seconds after I found this one I found another smaller Big Sandy not more than ten feet away. This point is heavily ground all on the base and in the notches. Nicely beveled and serrated. It measures 1 13/16" long and 13/16" wide at the base.

Nice I love those big sandy points !!!!

Big Sandy's are under rated I really like them for their workmanship. What part of the South East?

I have often wondered on sites like that where they have only a few types if it is because that is all they knew how to make or is that point all they needed to survive at that time.:dontknow:

Those are some nice points! What part of the SE you hunting in?

I agree with TN. Big sandy points are one of my favorites and I have also thought that they should receive more attention. Where I live, big sandy points are unique. When one is found, it's identity is obvious. Most of the other points found here could be a "this or a that".
