went to my local bank that I always go to and the bank teller was talking to someone and when they saw me they said "there he is". I went to go deposit some money and she said "I heard that you collect half dollars". So of course I said "Yes I do". Then she said that she had an old lady drop off $70 worth of halves and was wondering if I was interested. I couldnt refuse the offer so i took all 7 rolls. I couldn't help but open them up in the parking lot and the first roll was solid walking liberties. I was so excited that I opened up all of them. What do you know, all 7 rolls were walking liberties. I couldnt believe it. The oldest I found was a 1918 half and I also found a 1923S. Best luck I have ever had.

That is just AWESOME!!! Someday that will happen to me, but for now I get mine the old fashioned way, 1-2 at a time. LOL A picture of your 'Ladies' would really be nice for the rest of us to drool over. Good Luck on future hunts. : )

im new to this site and i tried to post a pic but it wouldnt let me. It kept saying time ran out. any suggestions?

Resize the picture or you can upload the photo to PhotoBucket (or similar service) and link directly to it. Looking forward to see your Ladies.

Incredible luck and sounds like you have a bank giving you a helping hand. It's always good to be polite with all of the tellers. I had an experience where a teller got crappy with me at my dump bank. The next time that I dropped off $150 of pennies she came up to me and apologized. She says that she will hold the silver halves for me. I really hope she does but it was great to get the apology at the very least.

wow that is ridiculous.... thats like $2500.00 she handed you for $70... i wouldve bought the biggest boquet of flowers i could and send them on over...

Congrats. It is amazing when it happens. Every now and then...you get a :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft: :headbang:

Congrats on a great find! :icon_thumleft: Some of the years to look for are any of the 1921s and the 1938-D. Those are the key dates. Also check for any of the 1919s, they are harder to find. WTG! :icon_thumleft:

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet score! I would absolutely love that. Not just the silver value, but I could fill SO many holes in my collection.

:icon_thumright: WOW :icon_thumleft:

Great going. That is why I take all halves from the tellers even if I know they are clad, training them to save them for me.
