Hunted a homesite that dates back to the mid 1800s with my buddy today. I usually gravitate to the large trees in the front yards of places like this. This home had a nice one to start my hunt near.
I found a few modern coins and then I heard a sweet 83 vdi signal in my headphones at about 5 1/2 inches deep. I dug the plug and was scooping dirt out of the hole onto my towel and saw this.

Turned out to be a 1964 Washington quarter. About 3 feet away I dug my second silver of the day.

It was a 1957 Roosevelt dime. Soon after finding the dime I hit a hot spot that was producing a lot of wheat pennies. I found 10 total today. '58,'56D, '47, '47, '44, '42, '39, '37, '23, '18. In this area I had a nice 91 signal on my VX3. The depth indicator was at 6". At six inches...still nothing. The pinpointer said it was still in the hole. At about 8 inches this popped out.

I'm amazed that these big silver coins keep coming up. Prior to this year I had never found a silver half. This is my fourth one since Mothers Day. Two walkers and two barbers.

The walker turned out to be a 1946.
