Billy Preston, another great artist that was taken away too soon. Although a great artist in his own right, I always appreciated him more when he worked with George Harrison.










Least we forget Billy also played on this rooftop recording, but was not filmed :icon_scratch: Anyway, "Get Back", is the only Beatles song credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston," Yup Billy was almost the 5th Beatle


 

Lets not forget the song that was a great hit for Joe Cocker either

 

Billy was from Houston, as am I
I remember seeing him play at an outside show in a field across the street from the Astrodome.
Must have been 1973-1975 he was very entertaining. I believe Johnny Winter and a couple of other acts were there.
I still have a scar on my left hand from barb on the top of the Astrodome's fence.
I do not remember for sure why I climbed it.
During that era in Houston I saw every major touring act that came through town.
 

Nothing like the concerts from that era, several great acts, low ticket cost. But then again, it seems you found a painful way to avoid that ticket cost :laughing7:
