I see that he even put scratch marks on it to make it look like it was found in a field. You can tell that not even the scratch marks are authentic.

The even depth and width of the scratches along the length of the scratch shows that constant pressure was used. The long curved scratch at the front is a dead giveaway. You just don't see natural damage look like this.

I have one that resembles the shape but is broken in two, and not nearly as pristine. I think it's banded slate but I could be wrong.

I found this one years ago in St Paul Ky. I looked for years for the head and asked every hunter I ran into down there and never found it. There's a munitions plant on the spot now and you can't get within a 1/2 mile of it and the guards will run you off.

It's made from Banded Slate that is green with black lines. The way the lines come together and start up the neck I always imagined it went up and formed an eye. If I ever have it restored, and I have thought of it since the site is gone so I will never find the head, I am going to have the bands come up and make an eye because I figured they would did the same.
