Here is a picture of my son's bison antiquus horn and partial skull he found just recently. Also gonna include a picture of the mastodon tooth he found a few years ago. When I get more time I hope to post many of our bones and fossils for help with identification. An idea on value would be nice also from any collectors' or dealers' point of view.

Also posted a fossil/ artifact over in the indian artifact forum. It is a very old piece of antler that has been drilled. Could be a pretty substantial little find in itself, in my opinion. All information appreciated. Let us know what you think. I will be adding more as work allows.

Pretty, ain't it. Seems like its a different color every time we pull it out. Wish I had photographed more often. At least once a year. When he first found it, it was just a dull brown color.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about the fossil market or possible values on items such as these. Please spare me any lessons on educational value taking priority and all that good stuff. There is not a lot of money floating around in my part of the world, and everything is for sale. If you can afford to just appreciate an item for its educational value, then hats off to you. If you know any reputable fossil collectors or dealers please let me know.

We would really like to get some ideas on these items. I also have some artifacts over in the american indian artifacts thread I would like to get some $$$ ideas on. We appreciate any help.

ifn i had teeth like that id eat more possum! oops, more salad; wrong animal. very nice find! thank u for sharing!

That Mastadon needs to brush his teeth more often!

Talk about a bad case of hallotosis - one can only imagine! :'(

Sorry, I have no idea what they're worth.

I well remember hunting these bison; wife and child on the ridge above me, as I followed the blood trail from a well placed atalatal point. One kill like this would help us through the cold period.

The easiest way to get a feel for the value of your fossils is to spend some time monitoring fossils being sold on ebay. Mammoth, mastodon teeth and bison bones, skulls etc can often be found in the fossil category on ebay.

I totally agree with you, but the first thought through my head was, "Man! Some archeologists are gonna have coronaries when they see this.!" Good job! I don't know any fossil collectors, but wish I did. Keep hunting ... -Noodle
