black stone in big rock

a man came to my land and said he want a stone which is in big rock. he broke the rock and find this black shining stone having weight 8kg and average length of 1 feet and 6 inch wide. this is found in rock picture of mother rock is attached. any one who know this stone.

Cant be to sure.. but it might be that the smaller sample is obsidian, I do see some sort of glare/glaze on the top right side sort of blueish looking. As for the host stone.. Limestone, Quartz maybe even some concert cant be for sure.. Apparently this fellow you speak of knows what it is and maybe you should have asked him.
