First time I've ever seen this type of relic. Thank you for posting them. Uh, don't know why there are no holes in the one. Maybe the blacksmith was making a prototype - a strap on version rather than a nail-on type?
 

maybe something happened to stop him and he simply forgot to finish them. we guys do that sometimes ---or he started and saw he need a differant size hole set up or such---so he didn't go any farther. ice cleats or creepers same item --differant name --to cross ice with ---like a frozen lake in the winter. sharp pointy end down to bite into the ice and give traction.

Nana - I didn't know either... so I looked it up for us.

Now I realize we both know what they are... I call them Ice Cleats... not creepers. Attached to your shoes/boots for walking across ice they act like cleats - pointy side down.
