Boat Anchor

This old boat anchor came from the bottom of Spirit Lake Iowa. It isn't worth much and it's large for display purposes but I really enjoy it. I should probably treat it with some type of stabilizer or sealant.

Very cool. Would look great in a garden or as a plant hanger on a porch. Ballistol, WD40, or Bar-chain oil work well as preservatives.

I am in Michigan, 11 thousand and three lakes and I have been looking for an old anchor like that for YEARS. You find one in the middle of the states?? LOL fantastic find I say. I found the flukes off of one that was broke and a lot heavier and I found a three ton anchor and had to leave it BUT I have yet to find an old one like you have. I have had over 100 anchors beside my house and i am jealous!!

There are ways to clean it and then put a layer of melted paraffin wax on it to keep it away from air. Sweet find!!

It's a great find and you might be a bit surprised how much it's worth
