Hello,, well today I figured I'd check out an area in which I used Google Earth to help scope out the area overhead a few days prior. The area in the county I live in is full of small lakes, ones got to figure,.. if theres a lake, there's got to be an old swimming area, swimming area equals good finds. The area I hunted today did turn out to be a closed county boat ramp in the back of a homeowners association, speaking with a neighbor that lived next door, he had told me that the county had closed the ramp due to having a hard time keeping it cleaned due to the overnight parties and fires.. so they closed it.. He did say that the occasional locals still swim in the area but nothing like it had been. Well right off the bat I started digging.. you guessed it pop tops.. I must have dug a thousand.. but I did manage a small little 10k ring and some nice green covered change.. I figured I needed a change of venue so,, I then went to where I know an old train station used to be from years ago.. I ended up finding a nice old spoon a wheat penny and a few other pieces of Iron that were deep.. The area near the train station is close to an old store also.. I'm sure with more hunting it should produce some silver coins here soon.. I do know I enjoyed the old railroad area much more than the old boat ramp due to not digging as many pull tabs.. but it comes with the hunt if ya wanna find the rings.. anyway.. Happy Hunting..
