Boat Stones?

Hello,

I found the two potential artifacts today out on a lake shore... any ideas on if they are artifacts? The white one has a very worn bottom. The red one appears to have the middle carved out at some point but not sure if that is the case. Thanks for your help!

They do not appear to be native american relics to me.

While its true a boatstone has the characteristics you mentioned and your item may appear to be scooped out, i don't see any other indication its been worked by man. But is a natural occurring exfoliation of material from a sedimentary rock formation when contacted by water over a period of many years.

The first one looks like an Ironstone concretion. I'm no expert though so don't quote me.

Agreed. The first piece is half of a Concretion that has broken open. The second piece is petrified wood.
