We are wondering what you guys do with all your finds?Keep them, give them away, sell them for scrap? It seems like I remember you guys having a year end post but I cant remember if it was you or not.

how long does it take you to do a play area?
do u do the grass, or just chips.
and how many schools u detect on a outing?

Very nice finds for sure.... You mind giving a little advice on how/where to search school yards?? Playground area, basketball court edges, etc.??
Tot lots are pretty obvious, but I have driven by many schoolyards and wondered.. "Hmmm, where would I start"...

COOL FIND

it depends on the size as how long it takes we do hunt grass around the play areas, we do hunt around the basketball courts sometimes the fields if weather is nice and ground is soft. How many sites in a day depends on size of play areas, what we are finding. We generally detect 4-6 spots a day the record was 11 in one day but that was a 12 hour day and the spots were fairly close together. We generally average 10 spots a weekend. We keep very detailed records so we can constantly keep up with what sites are producing what ones arent. A few years ago I had mentioned we were detecting in approximiately 18 counties, we still average between 18-22 counties a year, but we really detect in what i would call a core 12 counties.
Being a husband and wife team gives us the ability to spend lots of time detecting because we are always together, no worrying about having to get home for honey doos. actually we do those during the week thus freeing our time for detecting on the weekends. :wink:Oh yea we burn lots of gas and put lots of miles on the impala
