Let me start off by saying I'm skeptical that this may be anything other than possibly older pieces off of some farm equipment. However it was found near a civil war battle site and I'm just wanting to rule out any such possibility of it being anything worth keeping before it goes into the pitch pile. These were found at most a few yards apart from each other and were about 5 yards from where some possible camp lead was recovered, so you can understand why I may have even the slightest of doubts.
I am completely green when it comes to civil war relics or relics in general for that matter.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

The bolt looks like it has some sort of guidelines coming down from the head? The nut was completely packed with dirt and rust. Managed to clean out a tiny hole using some light running water and a cotton swab.

With the rounded head like that, how would put a tool to it to tighten or loosen?

I'm guessing it's a pin or rivet and not related to the nut.

Oh, and not any kind of Civil War relic I know of...

Start with ductile pipe flange bolts
water pipes
Brady

Looking into it now. This was found in the [far] edge of a field and I think there may have been an old pipe [system] not too far from it, so that would actually make sense. Possible that the field was tilled over the seasons and moved it away from there. Haven't found a match for the head of the bolt yet, but so far this is sounding like the culprit. Thanks~
